Golden Hour, One Year,

and a Field Full of Love

There’s something especially meaningful about capturing a family right in the middle of a fleeting season — and this one felt extra special. Our friend Alexis reached out to celebrate her baby boy turning one, and we met in a wildflower field at golden hour near the end of summer. The light was soft, the air was warm, and everything seemed to slow down just enough for them to be fully present with each other.

What unfolded was effortless and genuine. The kids played, the baby smiled through it all, and there was so much laughter woven into every moment. Nothing felt forced — just a family enjoying each other, exactly as they are. The images came out rich with color and warmth, and even the black-and-white photos somehow held that same depth of feeling — the kind that makes you pause and really feel the moment.

This is what we aim for in every session: a relaxed, comfortable experience where you can simply show up and be yourselves. No pressure, no stiff posing — just space to connect, have fun, and create something lasting together. If you’ve been thinking about documenting your family in a way that feels natural and true, this is your sign to do it. These are the moments you’ll want to hold onto.
