Who wouldn't want a sparkler exit?

When it comes to wedding exits, sparklers are a classic choice for creating a magical, romantic atmosphere. However, some venues may not allow sparklers due to safety concerns or regulations. At summers peak, or during droughts, some municipalities will enact burn bans that include the prohibition of sparklers. So what's a bride to do?

Averi's Wedding Bells

Averi, our creative and artistic bride in New Hampshire, came up with a unique solution for her wedding exit that not only complied with her venue's rules but also added a vintage charm to her special day: she thrifted vintage bells for her guests to ring during her and her groom’s exit.

Some of the bells were truly antiques, like this little church bell from 1786

Thrill of The Hunt

Averi, together with her husband Damon, scoured thrift stores, antique shops, and online marketplaces to find a variety of vintage bells in different shapes and sizes. They carefully selected each bell to match the vintage wedding vibe they were going for, and made sure they were all in working order. Averi even added a personal touch by tying strings to each bell and attaching a tag emblazoned with the message “Ring The Bell To Wish Them Well”.

Much like people, bells come on all different shapes and sizes.

Averi spent weeks popping into thrift stores and antique shops, putting together this beautiful assortment of bells.

Time well spent

On the day of the wedding, Averi placed the bells on a table along with her guest book. Her guest book was also incredible and creative, and worth it’s own blog post. The table looked amazing and helped to make the reception tent look more finished and complete. The bells reflected the bride and groom's love for vintage shopping, antiquing, and thrifting. Avery and Damon have a VERY hard time driving past a thrift store with popping in for a few minutes to peruse. And thats when they aren't collecting bells for a summer wedding exit.

A Wedding Exit To Remember

Averi and Damon’s exit went off without a hitch. Newly winged angles took flight as the sounds of bells cut through the brisk mountain air. They were bells of victory. They were bells of praise.

They were wedding bells.

A magical end to a magical day.

An Exit For The Ages

Averi and Damon pulled off a wedding exit for the ages. Guests loved the vintage bells and appreciated the thought and effort that she put into finding them. Plus, Averi was able to keep some of the bells as sentimental keepsakes from her wedding day, and give some away as gifts to family and friends.

So if you're planning a wedding and are looking for a creative and unique exit idea, consider thrifted vintage bells. Not only are they a great alternative to sparklers, but they also add a charming and personal touch to your special day.
